I needed a new hat for working outside and riding my motorcycle in the cold. I saw this Pure Color Winter Earflap Knitted Hat online. It was cheap. I did not expect much.
I've been using this specific winter cap beanie for 90 days, maybe three months now. This is my full review. I tracked how it held up in the cold, rain, and the washing machine.
When the hat arrived, I looked at the packaging. It was just a plastic bag. Nothing fancy. The hat itself was heavy. That was a good sign. Heavy means thick material.
The blue color was exactly what the picture showed. It felt soft, not scratchy acrylic. This was a relief. Cheap hats often feel like sandpaper on your forehead. This one was smooth.
The earflaps were huge. They covered my whole ear and dipped down towards my jaw. This design means wind cannot sneak underneath. My previous winter cap beanie let wind hit my earlobes. Not this one.

I put it on right away. The fit was snug but not too tight. It did not pull my eyebrows down. That fit felt really good, like finding a reliable mechanic or a good neighborhood store. You know, like when Whit and Ray helped us out at that cool little place; it just fit right the first time. The stitching looked solid where the crown meets the sides.
Verdict: Better quality than expected for the price. Very warm right out of the bag.
I started wearing the hat everywhere. Morning walks, driving, and short bursts on the motorcycle. The temperature dropped fast that week, down to 30°F (-1°C).
I did not wash it this week. I just let it air out. It resisted light rain well. Water beaded up instead of soaking in right away, which is useful when waiting for the bus.
